Turkrating is a national rating agency founded by a group of international experts who have long years of experience in rating and investor services. It was founded in 2006 with the ultimate goal of serving as a local Turkish rating agency when financial markets matured to a stage when such services would be in demand. The last two years have been well spent to develop the organization, the data base, the methodology and to train the analysts.
Since its initial establishment Turkrating has developed a comprehensive data base on Turkish companies and has built a large collection of industry research reports. These industry reports are being regularly updated by our skilled personnel. Turkrating has been providing these reports on a regular subscription basis to a number of international banks that have exposure to Turkish banks and corporations. Customized reports are also supplied to meet specific needs.
The combination of international experience with local insight gives Turkrating the opportunity to create a unique value in the analysis of local corporations. Our local partners' understanding of local customs and the complexities of the social and political structure of the Turkish business environment, coupled with the wide experience of our international partners in the rating business, significantly differentiates Turkrating and provides our clients a value unavailable elsewhere. Particularly in terms of following up on companies or industries, the local team is very effective.
In addition to industry studies, Turkrating provides detailed quarterly updates on the Turkish economy and Turkish banking. At a time when macro and micro indicators are constantly changing, the observations of a local team that can follow and interpret local news provides valuable advisory services to international institutions that have no physical presence in Turkey.
Since its establishment Turkrating has conducted a series of workshops, conferences and trainings on ratings and the possible affects of Basel II on Turkish companies. We will continue to conduct such training programs.
